STILL ON THE SAME ROAD

I think a lot about things that go unnoticed
About words said without care
About when we hurt with our speeches, even remarks
How much we have helped taught ourselves by ourselves
The wrong things in the wrong ways
Shady people cannot not cheat themselves
That’s how much the truth hurts.
There can’t be too many faces to being right.
There is never more than one truth, no matter how huge the matter is.

We are still on the same road
That same route
Leading to a place, a warehouse maybe
Leading to the same place
That same place, the same rugged path.
Any other path you choose is wrong
And stray you will if you do not heed
When the light is without, darkness is instilled
Like fear, it’s pumped within
Hardly do we be empty
He is either within or without
We can never be at the fence
He has said he would spew out lukewarm
It’s either a cold drink or a hot soup
The middle is never an option
You can’t cheer two teams on the same game
The only balance is good outweighing the bad
There is no 50/50

What are the chances of you surviving?
Walking the rugged route, that stretches into forever.
That same road walked ages by our fathers
Our mothers too hustled on the same street of the same road
That stretched on and on.

Change is certain
But the sands on the road are enduring
And the direction pointed is unchanging
That same road, where all must pass through
We must all pass on at some point
On that same road
Still on the same road
